The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) carries out the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) Exam to recruit persons at various posts like:
Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants(PA/SA)
Data Entry Operator (DEO).
Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC).
SSC CHSL Eligibility
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
Job Profile – The work responsibilities of LDC and JSA includes office tasks like maintain data, files, and documents of the office in a systematic manner. LDCs are first level clerks in government organizations.
Promotion Policy – LDC can be promoted as Upper Division Clerk, Division Clerk and Section Officer.
Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Job Profile – DEO needs to handle office computers. So, applicants are required to have sufficient knowledge of computers. Candidates should also have good typing speed. Typing is one of the most responsibilities of DEO post.
Promotion Policy – A DEO has to give different exams conducted by SSC for promotions. It can be promoted as Data Entry Operator Grade B, Grade C and Grade F (system analyst).
Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA)
Job Profile – PA/SA responsibilities include disposal of mails and maintaining the data, customer support, handling customer queries and providing them a feasible solution etc.
Promotion Policy –In postal assistant designation, a candidate has to gain 5 years of experience and give Postmaster Grade I examination to promoted as Supervisor (LSG), Senior Supervisor and Chief Supervisor (HSS).
The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC CHSL 2020 exams in the following stages
- Tier I – Objective Multiple Choice Paper
- Tier II – Descriptive Paper
- Tier III – Skill Test / Computer Proficiency Test applicable to a few select posts
